
Els De Busser Joins Discussion on Law Enforcement and Encryption at European Commission

On Monday 17 September 2018, dr. Els De Busser joined the first meeting of an expert group on the role of encryption in criminal investigations at the European Commission in Brussels.
The half-day meeting was organized by the Directorate-General Migration and Home Affairs and took the form of an exploratory discussion with representatives from academia and think tanks. The discussion focused on existing and evolving challenges in the use of encryption in criminal investigations, and new research, innovations and prediction on future trends in the security field. A second follow-up meeting will be organized later this year.
